The Difference Between a Ritual and a Habit
Rituals are not the same as habits.
Rituals can have profound positive impacts on your life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started choosing intention rituals after I experienced my first major burnout. Everything felt exhausting and hard. Life felt dull. My physical being felt heavy.
Ever been there?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A habit is defined as: a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A ritual is defined as: a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A Freq Ritual is defined as: A behavior performed intentionally and consistently to vibrate at a desired frequency.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Intention is the main difference. I have lots of habits that are helpful (brushing my teeth every morning) and lots that are not helpful (my midnight snack). A ritual is a conscious choice to get present, whereas habits can take place on autopilot.
When you take a moment to mindfully pause the part of your life on autopilot to activate your free will; to make a different choice in order to have a different experience; you typically have a more desired and connected experience.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rituals are my favorite part of the day because that moment where you pause and get really present with what you're engaging in feels like a luxury in a fast-paced world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A ritual can offer:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A deeper sense of meaning and connection to life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Decreased emotional pressure.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Connection to a like-minded community.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So much more...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There's nothing like a little moment to pause, get super present, and take intentional steps to create a desired experience.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What rituals do you enjoy each day?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
